Buckeye Power’s Cardinal Generating Station, located on the Ohio River in Brilliant, Ohio, is one of the cleanest coal-fired power plants in the world. The plant supplies power to all the electric co-ops in the state of Ohio, including North Western Electric Cooperative. The next opportunity to see it in action, will be in September 2024 as we head to scenic southeast Ohio.
NWEC member-owners, along with co-op members from Paulding Putnam Electric and Tricounty Rural Electric, will be sharing a charter bus for the one-day trip. The tour is FREE, but seats are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. The trip is only offered to NWEC member-owners who have not previously attended. Please check back on this page beginning in August 2024 for more information about the trip and instructions on how to make a reservation.
