Services

Among the many services for North Western Electric customers are an automatic bill payment plan which electronically transfers money from your bank account to pay your monthly electric bill, energy audits which help you identify ways to save energy at home and at work, and an impressive electrical safety demonstration for schools and other organizations.

**Important notice for members with remote disconnect collars.**

Some locations have a remote disconnect collar. This collar means the power is disconnected in the office, instead of having a lineman visit your residence. If those accounts with a remote disconnect collar are disconnected for non-payment, the following fees and guidelines will take place:

1. There will be a $40 disconnect fee charged to your account.

2. Reconnection will only occur during business hours. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

3. There will be a $40 reconnect fee charged to your account to restore power.

4. No after hours reconnection will occur. Instead, your power will be limited to 10 amps of power between the hours of 5 p.m. to 8 a.m. Sunday through Thursday, and from 5 p.m. Friday through 8 a.m. Monday.

In order to maintain limited service, you must do the following:

1. Remove all loads from your electrical system that will exceed a total of 2400 watts (10 amps). This can be done by physically disconnecting those appliances/devices or tripping breakers or removing fuses in your service panel.

2. Click here for a list of various appliances and the approximate wattage/amps to help you determine which appliances/devices you can operate.

3. When the load exceeds the rating of the service limiter, the device will operate and interrupt your total electrical service.

4. If you wish to restore your limited service capability, you must first reduce your load to that of the rating of the service limiter. And second, go to your electric meter and push up on the reset button. This button is located on the bottom of the meter.

5. Any tampering or damage to the service limiter or its seal is a criminal act and subject to prosecution under the Ohio Revised Code.
