Geothermal Heating, Cooling and Hot Water

The most efficient and economical resource for heating and cooling your home is right in your own backyard.

North Western Electric offers rebates and low-interest loans for the installation of a geothermal system.

$600 Rebate

To qualify for a rebate, the geothermal unit must provide 100 percent of the heat, without the use of auxiliary electric resistance heating, when the outside air temperature is 5 degrees F and the inside temperature is 70 degrees F. Load calculations must be based on industry-accepted standards for this area. Emergency backup will be electric heat.

There is a limit of one rebate per meter/location with no replacement rebates.

Loans

A low interest loan is available directly from North Western Electric. The program features:

  • 6 percent annual interest rate
  • 5-year loan term
  • Loan amount is limited to 80 percent of the installed cost after any rebates
  • A maximum of $10,000 may be borrowed

Geothermal Contractors

Make sure the contractor’s employees are certified by the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society (RSES) for installation and repair of heat pumps.

Systems not rated by the Air-conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI) must be approved before installation begins.

Air Source Heat Pumps

In addition to the geothermal heat pump rebate, a $300 rebate is available for air source heat pumps. To qualify for the rebate, the air source heat pump must provide 100 percent of the heat, without the use of auxiliary electric resistance heating, when the outside air temperature is 5 degrees F and the inside temperature is 70 degrees F. Load calculations must be based on industry-accepted standards for this area. Emergency backup will be electric heat.

There is a limit of one rebate per meter/location with no replacement rebates. For more information, please email us with your name and address or phone our office.
