North Western Electric offers rebates and low-interest loans for the installation of an electric air-source heat pump to an existing fossil fuel furnace.
$600 Rebate
The Dual Fuel rebate is limited to applications where an air-source heat pump is connected to a pre-existing fossil fuel system. A balance point of 30 degrees F. or lower is required.
Loans
A low interest loan is available directly from North Western Electric. The program features:
- 6 percent annual interest rate
- 5-year loan term
- Loan amount is limited to 80 percent of the installed cost after any rebates
- A maximum of $10,000 may be borrowed

Dual Fuel Contractors
Contact your local heating and air conditioning contractor for information on installaling a dual fuel add-on electric heat pump.
Make sure the contractor's employees are certified by the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society (RSES) for installation and repair of heat pumps.
