North Western Electric offers rebates for the installation of a geothermal system or an air source heat pump.

Bill Credits

To qualify for a rebate, the geothermal unit or air source heat pump must provide 100 percent of the heat, without the use of auxiliary electric resistance heating, when the outside air temperature is 5 degrees F and the inside temperature is 70 degrees F. Load calculations must be based on industry-accepted standards for this area. Emergency backup will be electric heat.

There is a limit of one rebate per meter/location with no replacement rebates.

Paid out as bill credits over the first 12 months of operation.

$20/ton with a maximum of $5,000.

Make sure the contractor’s employees are certified by the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society (RSES) for installation and repair of heat pumps.

Systems not rated by the Air-conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI) must be approved before installation begins.
